SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR ORDERING MADE-TO-MEASURE TARGET STOCKS

HAND DIAGRAMS ARE REQUIRED WHEN YOU ORDER MADE-TO-MEASURE TARGET, CAMP PERRY, TROOPER, DETECTIVE AND ROPER STOCKS.

[Please follow the instructions carefully.]

Hand Tracings

On a large sheet of paper or Herrett's order form, list your name, address, the make and model, caliber and barrel length of your gun. On revolvers also list the type of hammer and barrel length. Send butt tracing to verify round or square butt models. Place your shooting hand palm down on the sheet of paper with thumb and trigger finger spread comfortably, keep the remaining three fingers together. Take a fine leaded pencil hold it straight up and down and trace around the hand from wrist to wrist. Without removing hand from the paper apply pressure and make a dotted line from wrist to first knuckle of the pinky finger, this allows for the fatty tissue in the hand.

Revolvers

The following information is also needed on all revolvers: send a tracing of outside and inside of butt frame. Include back portion of trigger guard, as well as the serial number.

Colt Automatics

To help you and us to identify your colt, here are some things to look for:
The 1956 New Model Woodsman and the Challenger have longer frames with the clip release at the bottom.
The Post-War Woodsman has a clip release behind the trigger.
The Pre-War Woodsman has a short butt.

Ruger Automatics

Please include a tracing of the factory stock, showing the screw hole location and indicate which side the magazine follower button is on.
To identify your Hi-Standard send a tracing of the left (safety) side of the factory stock.

Smith & Wesson Automatics

You must specify if you want field stripping for the 41's.

All stocks for the .45s are made for guns with arched housing unless otherwise specified.
